A soft structured baby carrier that can support infants as small as 7lbs (3.2kg) up to toddlers weighing as much as 44lbs (20kg), the ERGObaby Performance baby carrier adjusts to comfortably fit parents of all shapes and sizes. An insert offers extra support for infants until they reach about four months.
The ERGObaby allows you to carry baby in front, in back, or on your hip, while keeping babies legs in a comfortable “M” position.
The inner lining of the carrier is made with fabric that breathes and wicks away moisture for comfortable baby-wearing even in warm climates. The outer shell repels water for wearing baby outside.
This review is based on using the ERGObaby Performance carrier with a 5 month old baby carried in front.
The first thing I noticed was that the carrier is very lightweight. Putting the carrier on and buckling in the back for a front carry is a surprisingly simple process.
The carrier has zippered pockets on the outside, which are quite handy for storing small items when you’re on the go.
I did find that the back panel on the ERGObaby Performance is approximately an inch longer than other models. Smaller babies will have trouble seeing over the top, but this is only a temporary problem which will diminish as baby grows.
The shoulder straps are very wide. This is great for weight distribution, but can get in the way of baby’s head, especially when they are small.
All in all, the ERGObaby Performance carrier is a great carrier, though it seems like older babies and toddlers may find it more comfortable and enjoyable to ride in than smaller babies.
