When you are expecting a new baby or if you had a baby recently, one of the things that many of us will think about is baby carriers. There are so many to choose from the Ergo, Bjorn, and the Boba. Now, I have the Boba and I love it. It is a lot softer than the Bjorn and is a bit more comfortable for me and the baby, it is also better for a newborn. The price is also right for those who are kind of budgeting for all the baby things that they need. I know with my first, I was clueless. My sister recommended certain items such as my beloved Boba wrap.

The super simple design has no buckles, buttons or straps which means nothing to cut into your skin. It also distributes your baby’s weight evenly so it isn’t as bad as other carriers where the weight feels as if it is all in one place. The wrap is 100% machine washable, which means bye-bye baby puke. The fact that it contains about 5% spandex, means that it keeps things a bit snug and will stretch from you to keep everyone comfy.

The wrap is meant to hold up to 35 lbs. I personally prefer to use them up until around the 20 lb mark. I will warn you, when you pull your Boba from its box, you may get scared. It is one giant piece of material that you have to wrap and tie to you. It took me 4 days to get the tying down pat, but it was a month before I could do it in around a minute. Once you have it figured out, it is pretty easy to tie, so be sure to practice. So, let’s talk about the pro’s and con’s.

Pro’s:

  • Super soft and a little stretchy
  • Comfortable to wear for long periods of time
  • Comes in different colors and patterns
  • The price is great

Con’s:

  • Can be a bit tricky when learning how to tie it
  • Bit hot during summer time

Basically, the Boba wrap is perfect for any baby.  There are better baby carriers for things link hiking where you will find specially designed hiking baby carriers but the Boba wrap is still one of the best baby wraps.  It takes a bit of practice to get it tied just right, but after that you will find that your baby loves it just as much as you do. Although it isn’t a humid summer day type of wrap, it will keep your little one snug and sound, and it comes for an amazing price.
