If you have a little one and need to have some hands free, then you need a baby carrier. But the true question is, what type of carrier do you need? For me, I researched and researched trying to find out what type of carrier would be perfect for my upcoming little one. I wanted something very soft, yet comfortable for my baby, I also wanted to be sure that I would be comfortable as well. Reading through Amazon to see how it would compare to other carriers, I spotted the Gemini by Beco and I seen a lot of great reviews. I decided that I would try it.
How it performed
What I found when I got it was that it has very comfortable shoulder straps for both mom and dad, as well as a waist strap for added safety. The weight once your baby is in the carrier is distributed evenly, so it is a lot more comfortable than you would expect. There are four carrying positions, so you can use this at all points. The only thing different is that it offers a hip carry. That makes it better for toddlers when you are out and about. You also don’t need any type of insert to be used with a newborn, and it is breastfeeding friendly.
Now putting it on was a bit of a challenge for me. Then again, I am not really coordinated. The straps are extra long, so they will fit almost any size of adult, which is good for those who are a little bit on the plumper side like I am. I am really glad that I took the time to do my research and buy the Gemini, unfortunately it has been discontinued by the manufacturer, but plenty of online stores have them in stock. The price is a bit high, but you really can’t put a price on safety and comfort. Let’s get to the pro’s and con’s.
- Very comfortable for you and baby
- 4 carrying positions
- For newborns to toddlers
- Extra long straps that will fit almost any sized adult
- Can be a bit hard to get on by yourself
- The price is a bit high at $130
Overall, the Gemini is a great baby carrier that will allow your baby plenty of cuddle time while you do chores or activities where you need both hands free. The fact that the carrier will grow with your baby, which makes it a go to for baby carriers. It had 4 positions which can make carrying your little one a bit easier and much more comfortable. Alternatives to the Gemini are the Infantino Sash Mei Tai or you could even try a baby wrap.
